In one of the biggest games of the season, the Silver and Black are set to take on their division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, in a winner-take-all battle for a playoff spot. The Las Vegas Raiders could finally have one of their biggest reinforcements back on the field, that man being tight end Darren Waller.
Where Has Waller Been?
Waller hasn’t seen the field since the injury he sustained during the Thanksgiving game versus the Dallas Cowboys. His presence has certainly been missed on the field, as before the injury he gave numerous defenses headaches due to their inability to stop him. This Sunday, he will surely be needed as his being on the field would give the Raiders’ offense a sure shot in the arm.
Waller has begun Practicing
Yesterday, interim head coach Rich Bisaccia mentioned during his presser that Waller was in practice and was limited, stating that today’s practice would “be a big test.” This is great news not only for Raiders fans, but for the entire team. Waller has a rare combination of speed and size for the tight end position. You can add versatility by having him line up at either wide receiver or his natural position. His presence on the field alone changes how a defense attacks the Raiders. His return would help open things up again and alleviate some of the pressure on Hunter Renfrow and the run game.
There is no doubt that both the media and fans alike will continue to follow this story as it develops daily.
