The initial response by Raider Nation to their team’s hiring of Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler as head coach and general manager was anything but positive. However, since the duo has now had their introductory press conference, have Las Vegas Raiders fans changed their tune at all?
When it was announced that McDaniels and Ziegler would be joining the Raiders, it appeared most Raiders fans felt underwhelmed. In an announcement that stole the NFL playoffs’ thunder, all Jim Harbaugh speculation was laid to rest. Instead, two of Bill Belichick’s disciples were coming to Sin City. In response, Raider Nation erupted in anger, disappointment, and weariness.
Such a reaction shouldn’t surprise anyone. The team is coming off a disappointing playoff loss, and more importantly, fans are worn out from a season that took its toll on everyone. However, the new pair were officially introduced to the Silver and Black faithful yesterday. Curious to see if there was any change in Raider Nation’s perception, I put out the word on Twitter to see how fans now felt. It’s pretty amazing to see the change in outlook of many fans.
Let's see something, two words to describe the #Raiders hiring McDaniels/Ziegler?

Let’s wait and see says Raider Nation regarding McDaniels…
It’s an early poll considering the team hasn’t gone through free agency, scouting, or the NFL draft yet. Be that as it may, as you can tell, some processed the announcement and appeared willing to give the new head coach a chance. For nearly a decade, McDaniels has been one of the most consistently good offensive coordinators in the NFL. Fans will await to see what the new coach can do with the Raiders’ offense.
Judging from the poll results and the reactions of some Twitter users, many in Raider Nation look forward to seeing what kind of product McDaniels puts on the field.
I thought he was really humble in admitting that he failed in Denver. Understands the mistakes he made and has made efforts to get better. Can’t ask a man for more than that.

Yeah there is a lot of coaches who don’t actually admit why they failed at press conferences. They instead are usually just like “it didn’t work out”. Good to see that he did. Hopefully it works out for us.

Now that the search is completed, let’s just let these guys get to work and not jump to judgements without seeing the product first. I’m excited to see the positive changes and have them get the @Raiders to the next level.
