Las Vegas Raiders Poll: Over Or Under 2.5 Sacks For DE Clelin Ferrell

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Clelin Ferrell might have one last shot at proving himself worthy of being the fourth overall pick. A new defensive coordinator and a scheme change might help to turn around the fortunes of the former Clemson Tiger.

Ferrell came into an impossible situation with the Raiders. First of all, his selection was seen as a reach from the outset. A talented player, no doubt, but with Devin White available, it’s obvious that the wrong player was chosen. To make matters worse, many in Raider Nation were holding Ferrell to the standard of the man that he was “supposed” to replace, Khalil Mack. You could argue Ferrell was in a no-win situation before his career ever got started. To be honest, since his debut, it seems that none of the previous defensive coordinators for the Raiders truly knew how to use Ferrell.

Whether he was on the edge or kicked inside, Ferrell proved to be a reliable run stopper, but his pass-rushing left a lot to be desired. In three years, Ferrell has never accumulated double-digit tackles for a loss. As far as sacks, his highest total was four and a half as a rookie.

Can Clelin Ferrell get more than 2.5 sacks in 2022 for the Raiders?

Ferrell recently mentioned that he was moving to outside linebacker, which is interesting. Perhaps Patrick Graham can put Ferrell in a position to succeed. He can stop the run, but now his athleticism and speed can be used to attack the quarterback. Let’s not forget, Ferrell had 11.5 sacks in his final year at Clemson. Regardless, we decided to put the question forth to Raider Nation: Can Ferrell get more than 2.5 sacks in 2022?

As always, fans weren’t disappointed, and the overwhelming majority believe he’ll surpass that mark. What do you think? Let us know in the comments down below!
