The Las Vegas Raiders still lack a pass-rushing threat within their defensive line’s interior. Luckily for them, Ndamukong Suh might be available now.
Suh has been one of the most written about free agents this offseason in relation to the Raiders. Despite being 35 years old, Suh can still bring it. Quite frankly, it’s been a long time since the Raiders have had such a disruptive force in the middle. Last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Suh accumulated six sacks, seven tackles for a loss, and a fumble recovery. His total snap count did decrease from 786 to 717 in 2021, but that didn’t diminish his impact. In fact, Suh totaled 19 pressures, per Pro Football Reference.
Will the Las Vegas Raiders pursue Ndamukong Suh after June 1st?
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke some interesting news today that’s directly tied to Suh. The NFL insider mentioned that Akiem Hicks, formerly of the Chicago Bears, reached an agreement with the Bucs for one year. The former Pro Bowl defensive tackle is likely replacing Suh on that Bucs defensive line.
Former Bears’ DL Akiem Hicks reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $10 million with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per source. Deal negotiated by Bucs’ exec Mike Greenberg and agents @DrewJRosenhaus and @RyanMatha.

While nothing official has surfaced from the Bucs regarding Suh, Hicks’ deal likely means the end of their relationship. The Raiders have long been seen as one of the best suitors for his services. The Silver and Black are carrying several defensive tackles with OTAs underway. Be that as it may, they’re mostly run stuffers or, are unproven, rookies mostly such as Matthew Butler.
Akiem Hicks now joins a stacked Bucs’ defensive front that includes Vita Vea and second-round pick Logan Hall. And Hicks addition means free-agent Ndamukong Suh’s time in Tampa figures to be over. https://t.co/JoMTNE62DX

Earlier today on the Pat McAfee show, NFL insider Ian Rapoport stated that the Raiders are potentially in play for Suh’s services. With the June 1st cuts now in the books, the Raiders have the ability to pursue veteran free agents with OTAs underway.
