Las Vegas Raiders News: Khalil Mack Doesn’t Expect A Homecoming

There is never a dull day with regard to Las Vegas Raiders news, especially when it comes to former players. At one point, one of the most popular players in Raiders’ lore, Khalil Mack, now finds himself playing for the Los Angeles Chargers. There’s obviously no love lost between the two fan bases, and Mack is fully aware of this ahead of the 2022 season.

One of the darkest days for Raider Nation was when No. 52 ended up getting traded to the Chicago Bears. After experiencing little in the way of team success, Mack is now playing in the AFC West, though now he wears different colors. In retrospect, the Mack trade was an organizational decision and one that could be argued was a failure. However, it’s a new day for both the Raiders and the Chargers, with Mack getting a homecoming of sorts in Week 1.

Las Vegas Raiders News: fans will be waiting for Mack in Week 1

Speaking to the media recently, Mack commented on the Week 1 matchup that will have plenty of eyes on it.

“It’s just another game, but also understanding that I’ve heard that crowd cheer me on. Now, I’m going to hear the crowd boo us. It’s a full-circle moment. I’m just looking forward to having fun and playing football again.”

Both squads made notable acquisitions this offseason and will be duking it out in 2022 for the division crown with things getting started in Los Angeles. As many people know, the Los Angeles crowd is often filled with Raiders fans, usually dubbed a “blackout.” Regardless, Mack sees this as just another game, with no special motivation for him. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what type of reception Mack receives. It wasn’t his decision to leave the Raiders, so that can’t be hung on his head at this point. What would you do if you were at this game? Would you boo Mack?
