Raiders Notes: Everything We Know So Far About NFL FA Ndamukong Suh

Raiders Notes: The NFL world has been ablaze the last couple of days thanks to Ndamukong Suh and the prospect of him joining the Silver and Black. There have been a few developments in the last day or so. Let’s go over what we know so far.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not bringing back Ndamukong Suh

One of the first dominos that fell this offseason in regard to Suh was when Tampa Bay signed Akiem Hicks. Signing the veteran defensive tackle led to conjecture that Suh might not be returning to the Bucs. Despite being a key member of Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl run, the team has gone in a different direction. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted on June 20th, following Suh’s appearance on NFL Live, that “the Bucs are out of the picture.” Despite that development, Suh went on to make it clear he intended to continue playing.

Raiders Notes: Sin City would be fun for Suh

Free agents have been connected to the Raiders all offseason, with the most recent being James Bradberry. Unfortunately for the Raiders, Bradberry’s services were quickly swooped up. What apparently drove NFL media and fans into a frenzy was Suh stating during that ESPN appearance that he’d welcome the idea of playing for Las Vegas. If that wasn’t enough, the defensive tackle dropped a bombshell (it’s June, so yeah, a bombshell) by mentioning he had exchanged words with Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones. It should be worth noting he did that with a sneaky grin, which could be something or nothing at all. Maybe just a ploy? Suh has used the Raiders as leverage in the past, so keep that in mind.

Following the television appearance, Raiders fans on Twitter were further teased when Suh replied to Schefter’s Tweet with a simple “Raiders could be fun.” As you can imagine, Twitter was ablaze all day. Even Jones got in on the fun as well.

Who’s telling the truth?

It’s not unusual for conflicting reports to arise when something like this takes place. The hearsay surrounding Suh and the Raiders is no exception. A prime example was when Tyler Dragon, NFL reporter for USA Today, reported that there was mutual interest between Suh and the Raiders. Though the Minnesota Vikings are another suitor, according to Dragon, there’s been communication between Suh and the Silver and Black.

However, this is where it gets interesting. Vincent Bonsignore, a Raiders beat writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal with whom Raider Nation is familiar with, reported otherwise. In fact, Bonsignore technically refuted that story with his own publication. As expected, there was blowback from fans on Twitter, and in kind, the writer stood his ground. Regardless of who you believe, Suh wants to play, and he’ll sign somewhere soon with training camp approaching.

For now, Raiders fans are either enjoying all of this or, at this point, are nauseated by another Suh-related article. Either way, let us know your thoughts down below.
