Should the Raiders make a splash and sign Ndamukong Suh?
Ndamukong Suh just seems like he should’ve been a Raider, right? He just looks and plays like a prototypical Raider, and with the opportunity for the two to come together, will they? Ever since his appearance on ESPN, Suh and the Raiders have been a trending topic in the NFL world. Suh made it known he’s been in contact with a couple of Raiders players (Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones), so there’s that.
It’s widely recognized that the Raiders have a lack of pass-rush within their defensive line’s interior. Even though their edges will be bringing the heat this season, a lack of pressure from the middle is a red flag. Plugging in Suh helps alleviate that concern. On top of that, he checks off other major check marks.
Pros
- Health
- Nasty, Fiery Competitor
- Pass-Rush Presence
- Championship Pedigree
Cons
- Age
- Slowing Down?
- Impact Decreasing?
If you take a closer look at each individual game from 2021, there was a drop off at times. In fact, he had several games where he didn’t even register a tackle. In addition, after Week 12, Suh recorded zero sacks. He’s 35 years old. The question has to be asked of how much he has left in the tank moving forward.
