Don’t Believe The Hype: Most Overblown AFC West Narratives

Los Angeles Chargers – Being the team to beat

A tale as old as time. The Los Angeles Chargers are loaded. A franchise quarterback with a full collection of weapons, side by side with a fully capable defense and competent coaching. They must surely be a true blue Super Bowl contender, right?

We all know the Chargers have a ton of talent. Nevertheless, that talent has yet to deserve any of the praise it has been heaped with over the last two offseasons. The current excuse is that wunderkind quarterback Justin Herbert couldn’t overcome a leaky scoring defense (just don’t tell that to Derek Carr). But I thought a top signal-caller got the job done no matter how big a house fire raged around him.

The Chargers’ defense has been fortified with the additions of old friend Khalil Mack and former Patriot J.C. Jackson at corner. Charger “fans” should all be booking their reservations for Super Bowl Sunday. I’m sure the rest of the AFC West has something to say though.
