Social media is ablaze following Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams and his comments regarding Derek Carr. Speaking of wide receivers, Mack Hollins seems to be making his presence known in training camp. Let’s take a look at all of this in another edition of Raiders Notes.
The close-knit relationship between Adams and Carr is well documented. The duo was extremely successful at Fresno State, but now they look to do the same at the NFL level. Adams, for his part, has been playing Aaron Rodgers since the wide receiver burst onto the scene back in 2014. Playing alongside a future Hall of Famer in Rodgers has certainly benefited Adams. Now that he finds himself in Silver and Black, Adams recently reflected on the quarterback change.
“Any time you change quarterbacks from a Hall of Famer to a Hall of Famer. it’s going to be a little bit of an adjustment. Both are great players and great to be around.”
As one might expect, the comments quickly went viral, and now the comparisons between Carr and Rodgers are making headlines. More importantly, though, at least for Raiders fans, the notion of whether Carr is an actual Hall of Famer is trending. It’s a divisive topic, one where both sides of the argument manipulate statistics to try and prove their point. Right now, it’s just more offseason fodder for the masses.
Raiders Notes: Mack Hollins is impressing at Las Vegas Raiders training camp
As Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton put it, Hollins will certainly be a “fun guy” while he remains on the roster. As of now, the Raiders have Hollins, Keelan Cole, Tyron Johnson, and Demarcus Robinson vying for playing time. Dillon Stoner is currently on the PUP list. Hollins, the former North Carolina Tar Heel, has bounced from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Miami Dolphins since 2017. He had his best individual season in 2021, scoring four touchdowns and totaling 223 receiving yards.

With camp fully underway, Josh Jacobs had plenty of good things to say about his teammate, Hollins, via The Athletic’s Vic Tafur.
“Mack Hollins, man, that’s an amazing dude, man. He’s funny. And he’s a hard worker, man. He comes out there every day, and he puts in the work. And I’m excited to see about him. He’s smart, too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy pick up an offense so fast, honestly. I definitely think that he’s a guy that people can look at and try to follow.”
Such praise from someone such as Jacobs certainly merits attention. On top of that, it also bodes well for Hollins, as the spots behind Adams, Hunter Renfrow, and Demarcus Robinson appear to be wide open. In a training camp that’s being defined by “competition,” Hollins is off to a good start.
