The Las Vegas Raiders are still dealing with a variety of injuries with training camp underway this week in Henderson. Luckily, though, there was some good news today worth mentioning in our latest Raiders Notes.
There was some growing concern among fans (no surprise there) regarding Chandler Jones. The pass rush extraordinaire had been largely absent from camp recently and obviously did not suit up for the Hall of Fame Game. Nevertheless, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, who is at the Raiders’ training camp facility, reported today that Jones is indeed back at practice. That is excellent news considering how vital Jones is to this team. There are still a handful of preseason games, so there’s no rush for Jones. The former Arizona Cardinal is far too valuable to have his health risked. There’s no doubt that the Raiders coaching staff will handle his progression with care.

Raiders Notes: Good news surrounding Amik Robertson
The Raiders were without most of their cornerbacks last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. We even saw Nate Hobbs take snaps on the outside. However, another bit of good news is that Amik Robertson is back at practice as well. Robertson is currently fighting for playing time and will likely see some action in the next preseason game depending on his health. Speaking of the cornerback group, not all is well just yet.

Along with reporting on Robertson, The Athletic’s Tashan Reed also mentioned that a handful of other cornerbacks didn’t practice today. He’s referring to Rock Ya-Sin, Anthony Averett, and Cre’von LeBlanc.

Obviously, the team is still missing Trayvon Mullen as well. At some point, given these injuries, you’d think the Raiders might consider adding another body. Deandre Baker was recently released by the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s one option. It’s going to be a situation worth monitoring as the week progresses.
