Fresh off securing his money bag from the Los Angeles Chargers, super safety Derwin James sat down with The Pivot Podcast to discuss a multitude of topics They included his thoughts on his AFC West rivals. James ranked Derek Carr fourth among the divisional quarterbacks while saying he would consider Carr underrated.
Stop playing with Hunter Renfrow’s name outchea 🗣🗣🗣
Respect to @DerwinJames for letting it be known. Judge a book by its cover if you want to, you’ll find out real quick when you have to take your ankles out of the blender. https://t.co/6GVUeQG90J

He then spoke of the difficulties and differences that come with covering Darren Waller and Travis Kelce. The moment that is making its rounds on social media, however, is what the Florida State alum had to say about Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.
When asked by host Ryan Clark what names have to be game planned and accounted for due to their ability to truly hurt your defense, James would list Tyreek Hill, followed by Darren Waller… and Hunter Renfrow. Despite the quips that would follow from Clark about Renfrow’s appearance, James remained stoic. Keep in mind, that James plays Renfrow twice each year in the regular season, so of course, he’d be the one to defend him.
When it comes to Hunter Renfrow, just watch the film
“Turn the film on,” James said matter of factly, “you watch film, don’t you?”
Ryan Clark, who claimed to only be playing devil’s advocate by calling the Clemson alum an “Encyclopedia salesman,” would go on to praise Renfrow as well, something he has openly done in the past.
“Y’all gotta stop looking at his headshot, looking at his body, and get out there and guard him.”
Seeing Renfrow get the respect he deserves on public platforms will never get old. He’s continuously overlooked by everyone, including the NFL who recently snubbed him from the Top 100 list. Nevertheless, with Davante Adams as his new running mate, you may be hearing about him a whole lot more.
