Raiders WR Davante Adams

Raiders WR Davante Adams Having Monumental Debut Season

Man, well, that didn’t take long. Despite the losing record and bevy of distractions surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams has flourished. Playing for his childhood team in Sin City, Adams is having a historical season that’s landing him in legendary company in the record books.

Expectations were massive for Adams after general manager Dave Ziegler swung a blockbuster trade. Yes, the team has fallen short of expectations, obviously. Even so, Adams has been must-see television for Raider Nation. It seems that every time Adams has a great performance, he sets some sort of record. On Sunday, against the San Francisco 49ers, it was no different for the more-than-likely All-Pro.

Davante Adams has recorded 8 games of 100 receiving yards or more

Adams has posted some eye-popping numbers this season. He’s now posted eight games where he amassed 100 yards or more through the air. It’s an impressive feat, truly. He actually surpassed Tim Brown, Art Powell, and Warren Wells; the trio has seven games to their credit, each with a similar accolade. It’s no easy task, but it goes to show the magnitude of Adams’ feat. It’s some nice company and once again goes to show the greatness of past Raiders wide receivers.

The Raiders have themselves quite the security blanket

In addition, Adams now has 39 career games where he notched at least 100 yards receiving. It’s also the second-most in the entire NFL since 2014. That record actually puts him toe-to-toe with Michael Irvin, as both of them achieved that milestone in their first nine seasons. Oh, and Adams now leads the league in receiving touchdowns with 14, so there’s that too. Regardless of who is the starting quarterback from here on out, Adams will provide a nice security blanket.
