Tom Brady next Raiders QB, Mike Florio says not

Tom Brady Next Raiders QB? Mike Florio Says Hold On A Sec!

The Las Vegas Raiders need a starting quarterback, with Derek Carr likely getting jettisoned in some form. Right now, most people have their money on Tom Brady. That’s mostly due to the Raiders’ power duo of Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler. However, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio says differently. In fact, he sees the Raiders going to the New England Patriots’ pipeline, just not Brady.

Raiders News: Tom Brady, Mike Florio, and more offseason intrigue

The man behind Pro Football Talk recently weighed in on the conundrum facing the Silver and Black. Now, if you ask Raider Nation, there’s a strong divide in terms of Brady coming to Sin City. There’s a lot of painful history there that predates almost an entire generation. Nevertheless, it’s becoming obvious that McDaniels wants a cornerback who’s familiar with his system. Jarrett Stidham performed well in the last two regular-season games; he’s likely McDaniels’ QB2 next season. As far as QB1, Florio thinks it could be another product from the Patriots.

“Mac Jones, we saw the repeated outbursts. We’ve seen the questionable play where it’s a manifestation of frustration. Maybe Josh McDaniels makes a phone call to Bill Belichick to work out a trade for Mac Jones, and maybe the Patriots move on at quarterback.”

That’s right, folks. Mac Jones could be your next starting quarterback. If this scenario plays out, Raiders fans will have a collective brain explosion. The consensus appears to be that either Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo will be coming to Las Vegas this offseason. A trade for Jones would certainly be out of left field. The other factor in this is whether Bailey Zappe truly performed well enough to be considered better than Jones. Either way, this is a wild proposition at the moment.
