The Las Vegas Raiders’ 2023 NFL season got off to a promising start with a Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos. However, since then, it’s been three straight losses, and the results are beginning to take their toll on the players. So, who’s the latest to vent their frustration? It’s Josh Jacobs.
After the Silver and Black dropped a heartbreaking 24-17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the Raiders running back used his postgame media duties to express his feelings.
Let’s not waste any time and dive into Jacobs’ remarks, which will be a talking point for many NFL programs surrounding Las Vegas this week.
Raiders RB Josh Jacobs doesn’t hide his frustration with 1-3 start
Despite the Raiders being down 24-7 heading into halftime, Las Vegas had a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. Davante Adams made a spectacular catch on 4th & 10 to keep the drive alive. It felt like momentum was on Raider Nation’s side despite being down 24-17.
The Raiders had the majority of fans on their side at SoFi Stadium. With the Chargers on the heels of blowing a 17-point lead, Aidan O’Connell made an ill-advised pass for an interception. It could have been a galvanizing moment for the team if Las Vegas had pulled out this win.
However, considering they were a couple of yards away from tying the game, it was a crushing loss. So, after another disappointing defeat, Jacobs decided to vent his frustration to the media.
“For me, it’s frustrating, man,” Jacobs told reporters (h/t KSNV’s Jesse Merrick). “I’m tired of losing. Just keep it 100 [percent]. Tired of losing, man. And I mean, I feel like every day I go in there and I work my a– off, so eventually something gotta give … 5-6 plays you do them right, difference in the outcome of the game, but at the same time, you’re tired of saying 5-6 plays…it’s just time to do that sh-t.”
The reigning NFL rushing champion is off to a terrible start by his standards. Jacobs has registered 166 rushing yards in four games, which is 2.7 yards per carry. Furthermore, the Raiders inability to run the ball is one of the reasons why they’re 1-3.
Where does Vegas go from here?
The million-dollar question for the Raiders is, what’s next? It’s time to panic, and they’re at a crossroads. Adams voiced his frustration last week following the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Sunday Night Football.”
Adams noted that he cannot wait for the situation to improve. As a result, there’s plenty of speculation regarding the 30-year-old’s future in Las Vegas. Now the team has Jacobs venting his frustration with losing. The Alabama product will likely have his future questioned.
Oct. 31 is the NFL trade deadline, and it’s the marker for Raiders fans to know where the team is heading. They can either dig themselves out of this hole or become sellers to kick-start a tank for USC star Caleb Williams.
Las Vegas will host the Green Bay Packers in Week 5 on “Monday Night Football.” If Adams and Co. lose to his former team, this result could break the camel’s back. So what do you say, Raider Nation? Is it time to get ahead of the trade deadline and field calls for certain players? Or are you optimistic that the Raiders can climb out of this hole?

Sorry to say Raider Nation its time to start over again. Coach intentionally caused us to lose yesterday. Its time for his clown parade and Jimmy “perfect hair” to leave.
We can play the rest of the season with a interim coach and start rebuilding now to get a jump on next year.
Players like JJ and Devante that deserve a shot at playing for a potential playoff team can be traded before the deadline and we can build draft picks for next year. This includes Kolton and Maxx as they also deserve better.
The rest of the offensive line can be “crap canned” after what I saw from them yesterday.
Jacobs’ holdout has nothing to do with our problems in the run game. Did the OL hold out too? He gets hit in the backfield every time he touches the ball yet is always top of the league in forced missed tackles.
JJ is one of the best players in the league. He helped carry us to the playoffs in ’21 and was even better last year. His relatively low salary is a bargain and trading him would set us back for years to come.
Draft picks? We always have high draft picks. What do we have to show for it?
Fire the coach and staff
Too early to see where this is going. I do think Josh McDaniels is the cause for the last two loses bad play calling near the end of the game twice. He needed to run the ball that late in the game and not risk passing a ball into a crowded area by a rookie QB. He was on fist Down and had time to take his time with high success low risk plays like QB sneak, RB run up the middle, play action and many others. We don’t need a rebuild We need one strong presence with a DT like Suh or one of several others for the middle of D line and a strong big successful RT. We needed these from the beginning and passed up several. I have been a fan since 1965 but it has been obvious we had these needs. Go Raiders
Time for Mark, if he really loves the Raiders, to admit the losing starts with him and sell the team to a winner like Joe Lacob, or someone successful on his own. Al was a football genius, Mark certainly is not. Stick to women’s basketball Mark.
Fire patriot west admin, trade adams and jacobs, restart with mcconnel, get USC qb, get gruden.
