Jayden Daniels recently discussed Antonio Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders, but surprisingly, he didn’t reveal much on the Nightcap Show with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson. Then again, what can he really say?
Actions carry more weight than words, and this is particularly evident during the NFL draft season. For all intents and purposes, Daniels can’t come out and say he wants to be a Raider. If, for example, he doesn’t end up in Las Vegas, there could be consequences. The kid has to play it right—business over emotions. Whether he likes it or not, his fate isn’t up to him; rather, it’s up to the team’s picking in the top three. We’re referring to the Washington Commanders and the New England Patriots.
Will the Raiders really pull off a trade for Jayden Daniels?
Are these teams really going to pass up on who many feel is the best quarterback prospect outside of Caleb Williams?
There has been a lot of speculation these past few days about both organizations. The Patriots are reportedly open for business with regard to their draft picks. Then we have Washington, which allegedly fumbled a meeting with Daniels, but that has since been refuted; apparently things are fine between the commanders and Daniels’ camp.
So what exactly is Daniels saying about the Raiders (the trade talk in particular), Pierce, and his NFL future? Well, he remained quite ambiguous, though he was sure to remind everyone about his relationship with the head coach in Sin City.
“I don’t know how they’re going to pull it off. But I mean, that’s above my pay grade, man. A.P., just as a human being, he’s the right coach for that team. You know, just him and the intensity that he brings. He challenges people. He was challenging me at 18. So I know if I was to go to the Raiders—I’m not saying I’m going to go there or I want to go there; I want to go wherever my name is called—if I was to go to the Raiders, I know as soon as I step foot, he’s going to challenge me.”
Well, there you have it. Daniels is looking to get his NFL career started, whether it’s with the Raiders or not.
