In what’s become an annual occurrence, Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams has to yet again shoot down the notion of him playing elsewhere.
If you recall, Adams originally came to play for the Silver and Black in hopes of recapturing some Fresno State magic. Of course, we’re referring to him teaming up with now-former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr in 2022. We all know how that played out.
This is becoming a tradition for Raiders WR Davante Adams…
Fast forward to the summer of 2024, and Adams finds his name among trade rumors every offseason.
Aaron Rodgers is the most obvious name we consistently see linked to Adams. Once teammates in Green Bay, the media now frequently speculates about the possibility of their reunion. Another name that popped up this offseason was Josh Jacobs. Jacobs, who ironically is now playing for the Packers, reportedly reached out to Adams once he left Las Vegas.
During his appearance on the Up & Adams Show, Adams cleared up rumors and conjectures on multiple ends, involving both Rodgers and Jacobs.
Interestingly, Adams did appear to take a subtle jab towards his old team in Green Bay. Simultaneously, Adams wished his friend Jacobs luck and reiterated where his head is: he’s a Raider.
“I told him you go ahead and hold it down. I’m gonna hold it down over here. I don’t think I’ll be coming back over there. Never know what’s gonna happen. If they ship me off, there’s not much I can do about it, but I’m a Raider. So, nobody got to worry about that.”
With Rodgers, it’s a little different. The former Packers signal-caller had some of his greatest years throwing to No. 17, while Adams has always spoken fondly about his old quarterback. While he admits they still keep tabs and occasionally shoot the s***, he makes it clear as far as a reunion goes: “Maybe in the next lifetime.”
