Geno Smith, Aidan O’Connell and Cam Miller? That’s one loaded quarterback room the Las Vegas Raiders have.
Sin City’s crowded group of signal callers was trimmed by one on Monday as the first post-draft move to the unit was made. Carter Bradley, who signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft, has officially been waived, the team announced.
While Bradley never had the chance to quarterback for the Raiders during the regular season, he was able to put plenty on tape during last year’s preseason. The South Alabama alum completed 50% of his passes for 225 yards, adding one touchdown and one interception to the stat-sheet.
Now, Bradley becomes a free agent, with the chance to start fresh elsewhere.
For the Raiders, it remains uncertain whether the team will carry two or three signal callers heading into the new season. Geno Smith and Aidan O’Connell are the two guarantees.
Cam Miller, on the other hand, isn’t as much of a sure thing.
While new Raiders minority owner Tom Brady didn’t directly involve himself in the selection of a quarterback during April’s draft, he did give his stamp of approval to FCS Championship winner Cam Miller. Still, training camp and preseason play will ultimately determine what happens as the regular season approaches.
In the meantime, the Silver and Black are down one signal caller heading into training camp.
The rookies will report to camp on July 17th, joined by the veterans on July 22nd. That’s when things will start to get real for Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders.
