The Raiders Are in Win-Now Mode. These 3 WRs Could Change Everything.

The mindset has changed. This is no longer a rebuild, and the Las Vegas Raiders can now be in win-now mode. That means the trade deadline could see players arriving instead of departing, and the Silver and Black’s top position of need is wide receiver.

One name circulating in NFL circles is former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill. A deal is highly unlikely, however, because of the off-field issues Hill has faced. Fortunately, plenty of other teams have receivers who could be available on the trade market.

1. Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns

After drafting two wide receivers in the first two rounds, the Cleveland Browns no longer have Jerry Jeudy as a primary target in their offense. Tight end Harold Fannin Jr. is also seeing more targets than the veteran out of Alabama. Because the Browns are getting younger, the 2020 first-round pick could be available in a trade.

That would suit Las Vegas, which needs a polished route runner. Jeudy has just eight targets in four games this season, so his role in Cleveland has clearly shrunk. There is also a familiar connection. Klint Kubiak, now the Raiders’ head coach, was the Denver Broncos’ passing game coordinator in 2022, when Jeudy played there.

2. Marvin Harrison Jr., Arizona Cardinals

Despite being one of the best college wide receivers ever, Ohio State alumnus Marvin Harrison Jr. has struggled in the NFL. His immense potential makes him probably the hottest commodity at the position. The college tape says Hall of Fame talent, but the professional film says borderline starter.

A change of scenery could ignite a fire in the young receiver. Still, the Raiders need someone who can consistently create separation, and Harrison would not drastically improve that part of the roster.

3. Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars

Last season was rough for LSU product Brian Thomas Jr. Beyond dealing with injuries, the young receiver also faced more competition in his position group. Parker Washington has become the top option, and many other players are taking a share of the targets as well.

That makes Thomas a low-risk, high-reward option for a team that wants an all-around receiver.

The Raiders also have a clock to watch. Dont’e Thornton Jr. is expected to return from injured reserve soon, which will give them a look at the wideout. If he underwhelms, Las Vegas should trade for Jeudy, Harrison or Thomas.
