As the Oakland Raiders head into the 2017 season, its ideal for Raider Nation to know that franchise quarterback Derek Carr was locked up during the offseason which cements his status with this team and organization for years to come. In spite of this, the quarterback position on the depth chart leaves some unanswered questions as the season draws near.

Carr and Mack are the perfect game closing duo as team captains. From the locker room to the huddle, every player has faith in the duos ability to win under any circumstance. That’s a powerful tool for a team that has a challenging 2017 schedule. With a coach earning the fan title “Black Jack” Del Rio for showing his willingness to take risks late in games because of them, it’s hard ever to count the Raiders out. It doesn’t also hurt to have one of the leagues all-time best kickers in Sebastian Janikowski on the sideline, a trio perhaps?

The rookie was pretty mediocre at best during his college career at Southern Mississippi as he rushed for over 1,000 only once during his four years with the Golden Eagles.

The Oakland Raiders 2016 defensive line was incredibly inconsistent as a group; even though it had NFL superstar and Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack (hybrid outside linebacker and defensive end), who finished with 11 sacks, the Raiders finished dead last in the NFL with 25.

Denarius Moore’s consistent play was enough to put him higher on this list than Curry even though Curry had more receiving yards. I had forgotten about Porter’s suspension in 2006 which stemmed from his bickering with then head coach Art Shell. I always wonder what these receivers could have done with the young star the Raiders now have under center. Either way, real fans can appreciate how far the Raiders have come from those days and enjoy even more the present day success.
