Showing maturity beyond his years, however, it seems Richard is taking it upon himself to help some of the lesser known players find a place on his team.
The NFL Pre-Season officially kicked off this past week; the first taste of real football to trigger the fans around the world into a frenzy. For the next three weeks, the media coverage will tap into their crystal ball of power rankings, win-loss predictions and forecasting individual performance award nominees. It is nearly impossible for Raider Nation to resist after years of pre-season prediction coverage delegated to failures.
Now should we “sip the kool-aid” of Super Bowl contender status? Before you settle on that matter, take a look at a parallel I have noticed between the upcoming 2017 Oakland Raiders and the 2009 New Orleans who went on to win a Super Bowl contender.
This is the law that authorizes the funding for the Las Vegas Stadium and Las Vegas Convention Center. The issue with that is that the language defining the community benefits agreement is overly vague. Because of that, one local group appears to be taking advantage of this. They have demanded that the Raiders set up a bank account that they can have access to according to sources close to this.
Raider Nation can feel it. There’s legitimate excitement surrounding their beloved squad. AFC West title, AFC West Conference crown, and a Super Bowl appearance, all are within reach and — gasp! — the national media is abuzz regarding the Oakland Raiders’ renaissance.
Still recovering from the news of the release of Austin Howard yesterday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com announced that Donald Penn didn’t report to training camp.
When I think of Tom Flores, I think of the head coach that won two Super Bowls with the Oakland Raiders. I also think of the one coach that wasn’t able to get his team over the hill back in Seattle. Is he worthy of enshrinement? Isn’t he? There must be a point in between the Raiders and the Seahawks, but his legacy is more complicated than either being enshrined into the Hall of Fame or not.

Jalen Richard’s story is truly that of an underdog as he was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL draft.
