The Oakland Raiders began their off-season program this week and social media was ablaze with Marshawn Lynch in camp, however seventh-round pick Elijah Hood recently stated Lynch “runs angry”. An excellent observation by Hood and one that should excite Raider Nation because let’s face it; the Raiders as a whole are “angry”.
Newest Raider on Marshawn Lynch: “He runs angry”
After such a disappointing ending to what was the best season, the team has had since 2002, there’s little doubt this team is hungry and that offensive line which Lynch will be running behind wants to avenge what happened last season. Hood for his part, had high praise and was genuinely excited when he sat down with Raiders.com as he used terms such as “relentless, “determined”, “grit”, and “will-power” to describe his new teammate.

Widely considered to be a steal for the Raiders, Hood will have plenty of time to develop his own game and adjust to the professional ranks though running behind Lynch will also help. For now, fans know Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington are backing up Lynch yet neither are considered ”power” runners or a “between the tackles”-type of back. With this said, Hood finds himself with an excellent opportunity and assuming he’s a part of general manager Reggie McKenzie’s long-term plans then Raider Nation might want to start remembering this kid’s name.
