Only Nation: Is It Time That The Raiders Panic?

This week’s Only Nation Podcast recaps the Las Vegas Raiders against the Kansas City Chiefs, previews the next game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and then asks the question ‘is it time to panic?’ for Raiders fans.

Battling The Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs came into Allegiant Stadium and dismantled the Silver and Black, 41-14, on Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs had over 500 yards in total offense, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw five touchdown passes. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was 25 of 35 for 261 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. While Carr’s stats looked decent on paper, they were no match compared to the game Mahomes threw.

Where They Stand

This loss brings the Raiders record to 5-4 and drops the team down to third place in the AFC West. The Raiders’ offense struggled to move the ball against the Chiefs. That, of course, was reflected in the final score. Looking ahead, the Raiders offense needs to come to life to win against the Bengals this week. Along with the offense, the defense needs to return to earlier season form to keep the Bengals in check.

Is It Time To Panic?

In addition to looking at these games, we ask the question, ‘is it time to panic?‘ for Raiders fans. One host says no, and one host says yes. Both agree that the season is far from over, but the urgency of winning is different for both of them. On top of that, both hosts have a different team winning on Sunday. One has the Raiders as victors, and the other has the Bengals coming out on top.

Episode Wrap Up

Next, we discuss the Raiders needing to involve tight end, Darren Waller, more in the passing game. We also talk about the notable amount of visiting team jerseys inside Allegiant Stadium this year. Finally, we take our weekly Raider quiz and name an old-school Raider as this week’s hero.
