Rich Eisen Deciphers Davante Adams’ Remarks; Plus, Raiders And Cowboys Trade?

The Las Vegas Raiders are on a two-game win streak and have a chance to be 4-3 since they’ll be facing a bad Chicago Bears team. However, this week’s topic of conversation isn’t about the squad getting above .500. It’s about Davante Adams.

Adams spoke about his frustration with the Silver and Black’s offense this 2023 NFL season. These remarks were taken in two different directions, with Rich Eisen understanding the player’s high standards.

Now, there’s the other side, which means trade rumors. FOX Sports’ Keyshawn Johnson reacted to the 30-year-old possibly being dealt before the upcoming NFL trade deadline on Oct. 31.

Let’s dive into the latest regarding Adams and more trade gossip if you didn’t have enough of them from a few weeks ago.

Rich Eisen doesn’t see trade demand in Davante Adams’ remarks

Adams speaking out over his unhappiness with the offense will ultimately create many trade speculation rumors. The six-time Pro Bowler hasn’t had his best season, as he’s only produced one game with over 100 receiving yards. Furthermore, the veteran only has two touchdowns.

The three-time All-Pro is probably not used to producing these numbers. While it’s easy to say that Adams is laying the groundwork to demand a trade, Eisen doesn’t buy that claim. The NFL pundit stated that the Raiders receiver isn’t helping the team with the numbers he can deliver.

“The ultimate issue I’m taking away from these comments and the ones before is somehow, some way, he feels that the setup there is not for his ultimate success,” Eisen recently said on “The Riche Eisen Show.” “He feels as if whatever’s going on there, he is not set up for his ultimate success. That is the subtext to everything he has been saying.”

It’s easier to draw up trade scenarios from now until Halloween. Nonetheless, the major question surrounding these remarks is whether head coach Josh McDaniels and whoever is under center can get Adams the ball.

During this two-game winning streak, Adams has been targeted nine times. If Las Vegas wants to seriously push for a playoff spot, that has to change.

The Davante Adams trade speculation is back…

If you missed any of the Adams trade speculation or rumors after the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 24, don’t worry; they’re back. The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver tweeted “Cowboys” at the Raiders star, so it was no surprise that the NFL media ran with this topic.

FOX Sports’ Keyshawn Johnson has a connection to the Cowboys. However, he noted that from an economic perspective, it doesn’t appear like a deal would get done, especially with only a few days until the trade deadline.

“When you mentioned Davante Adams to the Cowboys, first of all, it’s not going to work from an economic standpoint,” Johnson told Skip Bayless and Michael Irvin on Friday’s “Undisputed.” “From a number standpoint, it’s very difficult to be able to have Davante making [$30 million], and now CeeDee Lamb he’ll be at [$30 million], close to 30 because that’s just what the market is at when you’re tying up [$80 million] for the room.

“Because you got to pay [Brandin] Cooks, you got to pay Davante, you got to pay CeeDee, [Michael] Gallup, whoever the number five receiver is. So when you put that in one pot, that’s $80 million or so tied up in one position.”

If the Raiders beat a Bears team that will be without Justin Fields, they’ll be 4-3. Trading Adams would send the wrong message to the locker room that, despite being over .500, they don’t believe they’re a playoff squad.

What do you think, Raiders fans? Should Las Vegas trade Adams or work out his issues with the offense? Nonetheless, after Oct. 31, these rumors will quiet down until the offseason.

  1. Am I the only one who hears what Devante has been saying?
He said from the very start he is not helping if they dont get the ball to him.
That the team wont win unless the players start making the effort.
Two simple down to earth statements that ring true and right as rain.

There is no ego in any of that. No “Im better than you” in there. No “I want to be traded” there either. He has stated he wants to win which is understandable as long as he has been playing and normal being a competitor.
His time for winning a ring is short. He wants a damn ring.
    AND WHO WOULDN’T??

    1. If the “O” line would give the QB a second or so more time, they could get the ball to Devante after he fakes out the DB with his great moves!!

I think Adams wanted to make it work in Vegas, even after they dumped his buddy Carr, who was the main reason we got him.

But let’s face it: passes from Garoppolo are career-shorteners. The other options are a rookie and a journeyman, both unappealing to a HOF talent like Adams.

Trade Adams for Chris Olave, not draft picks.
Trading Adams for picks means punting on the season, and McD can’t afford that. Olave is younger, cheaper and has star potential, with plenty of upside. Both players unhappy and deserve a fresh start.

    1. I see a 3 way trade !!! Adams goes to the Saints, who sends a 2nd round to Denver, who sends Russell Wilson to The Falcons who sends a 1st round to Vegas!!! What do you think?

  3. The writers that are in the locker room and have relationships with Devonte, say there is no problem between Devonte and the Raiders. Devonte just wants a team culture that is not happy with the standard the team has been playing at. Devonte is asking for the team to demand to play at a higher standard, which they obviously haven’t been doing even though they have won a couple of games. The insiders that know more, have asked Raider Nation to beware of articles like this one that are trying to make it sound like there is a problem because these articles are nothing more than click bait.
