The Las Vegas Raiders‘ offensive line took a scary hit Monday—literally. How worried are you?
Raiders offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson left practice early Monday after going down during a red zone period, and he didn’t return.
According to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden, Powers-Johnson went down during the team’s red zone period before quickly getting back to his feet. He then headed to the sideline and walked into the facility with a trainer once the period concluded. The extent of the injury was not immediately known.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Powers-Johnson, who has been locked in a competition with second-year pro Caleb Rogers for the starting right guard job. Powers-Johnson seems to be winning that battle, getting the lion’s share of first-team reps in camp and earning the starting nod in the Raiders’ initial depth chart, even as the two have rotated in recent practices. The possible injury might’ve come at the worst possible time.

How worried should Raiders fans be right now?
Monday’s injury adds another chapter to Powers-Johnson’s lengthy injury history. He missed two games as a rookie. JPJ also missed the final eight games of 2025 with an ankle injury. Of note, he also dealt with a concussion last season. His Oregon college career included hip, groin and concussion issues, too.
The severity of Monday’s injury remains unclear. But Powers-Johnson walking off the field was an unwelcome reminder of the injury bug that has followed him through his first two NFL seasons. He’s appeared in just 23 of a possible 34 games. Injuries have repeatedly interrupted the continuity the Raiders envisioned when they drafted him.
