Out of Nowhere: Lewis highlights Raiders’ need for pass rush

LaTroy Lewis. Like Randy Orton’s RKO, the Oakland Raiders undrafted free agent came out of nowhere Saturday night with two sacks against the Arizona Cardinals. “No one was asking me about Lewis the first two weeks of camp,” said Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio with a visible smirk in the postgame press conference. “We’ll […]

2017 Raiders Preseason Opener: 3 things to keep an eye on

Borders has been getting rave reviews from many followers attending training camp. He has earned time with the first team defense, albeit from injuries and such. On Saturday night he may have to go one on one with future NFL Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald being his first real game action test. That will be a match up to watch as the undrafted rookie gets the tremendous opportunity I am certain he has been craving for since joining the team.

Raiders Quantum Leap: Expect to see changes in Year 2 for Joseph

That was during a campaign where the Oakland Raiders’ heat-seeking missile of a safety readily admits he was not 100 percent mentally and physically. Not surprising considering Joseph did not participate much in offseason activities as he was mending from an ACL tear that wiped out most of his senior season at West Virginia.

The State of The Oakland Raiders’ Special Teams

Even during the Oakland Raiders’ “Dark Age,” one of the beacons of hope that was and continues to shine, is the special teams unit. Led by Sebastian Janikowski and punter Shane Lechler, the Silver and Black had one of the most talented and efficient special team’s groups in the NFL. In fact, the team always ranked near the top of the kicking game thanks to the sturdy sets of legs these two brought, regardless of the record.

Flash forward to the present, and while much has changed from top to bottom in the organization, the “Sea Bass” persists. Now joined by walking meme Marquette King, the Raiders still boast two of the biggest and best legs in the game.

Eyes on the Future: 3 Left Tackles the Raiders should be looking at

With all of the recent commotion that Donald Penn has created by holding out of camp, I started to do a little digging into what the Oakland Raiders could soon do to address the left tackle position.

One thing is clear, the NFL above all else is a business, and though sometimes that fact is lost on fans, everyone from players to the people who run the organizations understand this perfectly.

Right now Penn has every right to ask for a raise yet the timing of his decision is less than optimal.

Revenge of the Seth?

As superstitions go, Seth Roberts is a big part of a smirk-worthy, yet hard-to-ignore ritual. Get this: The Oakland Raiders are 9-0 in games where Roberts hauls in a touchdown pass. Word?

It’s stunningly true. The ninth of those victories came in a wild 35-32 home win over the visiting Carolina Panthers. Coincidentally, that game marked the final time Roberts found the end zone in 2016.

Raiders 2017 Fantasy Football: The Rise of Amari Cooper

We’ve all had our calendars marked for quite some time now, but rest assure Fantasy Football season is here. The mumblings around the office coffee pots across the country has shifted to; clever FF league names, sneaky sleepers and draft values. Before you accept too many league invitations and squander the FF mock draft boards, first let’s acknowledge the year three explosion from Oakland Raiders wide receiver; Amari Cooper.

Raiders Camp: Contract “Penn-ding” for OT Donald Penn

The Oakland Raiders 2017 Training Camp started with a league wide shocking report. Pro Bowl starting left tackle Donald Penn is holding out amidst a contractual dispute. In addition to Penn’s controversial decision, the team’s first round pick, Gareon Conley, got some good news as his legal drama might start to get behind him.

Oakland Raiders: The Cornerback Vexation

The expectations for the Oakland Raiders organization to deliver a Lombardi Trophy to the Bay Area will lie heavily on how its defense can perform, in particular, the defensive backfield and its corners. Even after selecting an exceptionally talented cornerback in Gareon Conley in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft, there’s still a lot of questions as we head into this weekend’s camp action.

RaiderRamble.com Preview: AFC South Predictions

After Raider Ramble’s somewhat controversial pick in last week’s preview of the AFC West, we now turn our attentions to the AFC South. After finishing a combined 29-35, only two other divisions (NFC West & AFC North) finished with a worse combined record. However, it seems like this division is brimming with talent and perhaps this will be the season its teams put it all together. Let’s take a look at some of the most notable offseason moves made by each team.
