Jon Gruden traded Amari Cooper

Quick Slants: Gruden isn’t going to let Amari get Cooped up

Jon Gruden has been singing the same tune about Amari Cooper from the get-go: Coop is going to be the top weapon in our aerial attack.

The boss man is intent on not letting the former No. 4 overall pick get cooped up like he was last year.

From the minute Gruden was brought back to captain the Oakland Raiders, he’s waxed poetic about No. 89. The consistent sentiment rang true again during an exclusive conference call between the head coach and season ticket holders.

Full Throttle: Derek Carr Revs Up Under Pressure

When the pressure is mounting, Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has been a magician. From Carr’s historic 2016 season where he seemingly drove the team to victory in the waning moments on a routine basis, to his epic Thursday Night Football performance against the Chiefs last season, Carr thrives when it matters most. Pressure isn’t anything new

2018 Battle of the Bay: The Finale

The cities themselves claim a long-time rivalry that spans across cultures, cuisine, baseball, and ultimately two of the most historically relevant teams in the NFL; the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers. The latter comes to an end in 2018. Headed into this finale, we thought it a good idea to give some historical context.

The two cities are separated by 4.5 miles of water and joined together by one of the longest spanning bridges in North America. While close in proximity, these two cities couldn’t be any more different.

Another One Bites The Dust? Four Raiders Who Might Not Be Back In ’19

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden appears to be tongue in cheek serious about his comments in getting the Raiders back to their 1998 offense. A key to Oakland’s offense the last few years has been wide receiver Michael Crabtree, however, he has moved on and the team has added Jordy Nelson and Martavis Bryant. Also new to the team is tight end Derrick Carrier as well as Doug Martin and Keith Smith to the backfield.

The new changes are strikingly similar to the 1970’s George Allen led Washington Redskins and their “Over-the-Hill-Gang.” With an aging team and contracts also playing a factor for others, certain players may not be around beyond the 2018 season.

Raiders: Longshot Lamur? Not so fast…

Lamur has a little bit of an edge. It was during the Cincinnati Bengals’ 2014 campaign Lamur, an undrafted free agent in 2012, seized the weakside linebacker starting spot for Guenther’s defense and produced a career year (92 total tackles, two interceptions, and seven pass deflections). Using his unique blend of size and speed, Lamur was the most disruptive front seven defender against the pass.

The heart of a Raider is relentless. It’s a heart that fights through adversity and emerges victorious. It’s a heart that bleeds passion. It bleeds the all-mighty Silver and Black. No matter the doubt that ensues, no matter the skepticism that’s considered, the heart of a Raider prevails. It’s the heart of a Raider that

Quick Slants: Raiders HC Jon Gruden delivers wake-up call to Obi

It wasn’t difficult to surmise what that scowl on Jon Gruden’s face meant when he was asked about the readiness of Obi Melifonwu. “It doesn’t look close at all,” the Oakland Raiders head coach said about the second-year safety, “I’ll leave it at that. He doesn’t look close to me at all.” Raiders HC Jon
