Former Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs

Raider Nation Chatter: Do Raiders fans care about Josh Jacobs’ arrest?

The media always seems to link NFL players to the Las Vegas Raiders whenever they’re in legal trouble. It’s become a recurring theme, if you were once a Raider, they’ll make sure everyone knows it when the law comes into play.

Does Raider Nation care?

It never fails, whenever you see a headline flash across Sports Center or social media, it’s always “former Raiders player” does this, or does that, or found guilty, etc. The most recent episode in all of this is regarding Josh Jacobs. He was once an All-Pro running back for the Silver and Black. In fact, his numbers will likely stand the test of time and be up there with some of the legends. His incredible 2022 season alone will be talked about for years.

Regrettably, his exit was much less stellar. Depending on who you believe, there were clearly diverging agendas among all the parties involved; Jacobs, Raiders management, etc. Still, what’s done is done. Since then, he’s been a Pro Bowler for the Green Bay Packers while also recording 2,258 rushing yards in two seasons. His latest development, however, is not what anyone would’ve wanted.

League insider Ian Rapoport recently reported that Jacobs had turned himself in to the Lawrence Police Department. He was booked on charges of battery/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct. However, according to his attorneys (David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld), Jacobs is denying the allegations.

The media likes to include the Raiders in these matters…

The Packers have opted not to comment on an ongoing legal matter at the moment. It’s a very serious issue and one that’ll have consequences for both Jacobs and the Packers.

Here’s our question for Raiders fans, though. Do you care about what’s happening with Jacobs? Or any former Raiders player when it comes to matters such as these? The way the media chooses to cover these incidents is certainly worth noting.
