As Raider Nation Looks ahead to the regular season in the Raiders’ game versus the Titans, the Silver and Black’s receiving corps will be facing no small task when they are covered by the likes of Logan Ryan and rookie Adoree Jackson.
As PFF pointed out a few days ago via Twitter, the Raiders’ offense will continue featuring one of the best duos in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, and in his defense, Seth Roberts is no slouch as a third option.
Last, but certainly not least, our Raider Ramble panel will take a look at the AFC North as we set sail towards the regular season! A division that has certainly given fans one of the best rivalry matchups in recent history in Ravens versus Steelers, along with one of the most intriguing and controversial teams in the Bengals. But perhaps after a seemly strong offseason, the Cleveland Browns are preparing to drag themselves from amongst the NFL’s basement dwellers and come into their own. Well, that may be a long shot as only time will tell.
No surprise that in last week’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals that Oakland Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr did not see any action, however, E.J. Manuel did, which resulted in many impressed observers.
You heard it here first! Derek Carr is the man who just got paid and whose sole purpose now is to dominate the NFL and win an MVP award.
Carr is on a path to greatness thanks to having the correct mindset that you need to play in the league and whether by design or destiny, he has learned from the mistakes of his brother David determined not to let history repeat itself in his family.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Johnny Burczak, a man who follows all things Kansas City Chiefs and co-hosts a podcast called WildWestAFC Podcast. Now I do not usually fraternize with the enemy because I am acutely aware that Raiders versus Chiefs is the best AFC West rivalry in my book, but in this instance, I was looking for another man’s opinion on perhaps Oakland’s fiercest rival.

Final score aside, head coach Jack Del Rio’s merry band of marauders — well, those that played — gave coaches and fans alike plenty to pilfer over.
During the 2016 offseason, the Raiders had to address the cornerback position seriously. Former first round pick D.J. Hayden had his pending fate sealed with the team amidst struggles at cornerback. Sean Smith was seemingly the answer by adding a physical corner; while Hayden would play out his rookie deal and inevitably not have his services retained. Now we are barely into the official start of Smith’s second season, and he is arguably the worst pure cover corner on the roster.
