For back to back years the Oakland Raiders have done their homework when it comes to scouting players and they have made the most with their recent draft picks in quarterback Derek Carr and linebacker/defensive end Khalil Mack in 2014 and 2015 by adding wide receiver Amari Cooper.
The Oakland Raiders are now 0-3 in this year’s NFL Preseason, and despite what pundits are saying, the defense has shown some young, bright spots we can look forward to seeing.
While there’s little argument that this team will go as far as quarterback Derek Carr will take them, the defense will have to do its part, and in spite of the final score, the first team defense did a solid job yesterday. What’s impressing so far in the preseason is the youngsters on the squad as we all know this defense is anchored by the likes of Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin.
Tell me if you have heard this story before; the Oakland Raiders struggled on defense. The Raiders defense looking lackluster in the first two preseason games of 2017 might very well be an understatement right now.
No one would blame head coach Jack Del Rio for Pleading the Fifth after another bonehead defensive performance this past Saturday.
