2018 Battle of the Bay: The Finale

The cities themselves claim a long-time rivalry that spans across cultures, cuisine, baseball, and ultimately two of the most historically relevant teams in the NFL; the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers. The latter comes to an end in 2018. Headed into this finale, we thought it a good idea to give some historical context.

The two cities are separated by 4.5 miles of water and joined together by one of the longest spanning bridges in North America. While close in proximity, these two cities couldn’t be any more different.

Another One Bites The Dust? Four Raiders Who Might Not Be Back In ’19

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden appears to be tongue in cheek serious about his comments in getting the Raiders back to their 1998 offense. Using his unique blend of size and speed, Lamur was the most disruptive front seven defender against the pass.

An “Extraterrestrial Descent” Empowers The Raiders

After being conditionally reinstated to the NFL for the 2017 season, “The Alien” claimed he had found his way back to Earth. He resumed his starting position, reuniting with his accomplice Antonio Brown and pledging to maximize his “hellacious” potential. But, it seemed as though he was never given a chance. Bryant vented frustration from his decreased offensive role on social media and skipped mandatory team meetings before requesting to be traded. His yearning was ignored by head coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers organization until fate revealed itself in the 2018 NFL draft.
