Ashton Jeanty’s rookie campaign can be chalked up as a wash for the Las Vegas Raiders. The scheme, the personnel, nothing was tailored for his usage. That’s changing with new head coach Klint Kubiak and No. 2 is going to feel it.
The sixth overall pick from last year knows that expectations will be huge in his second campaign. However, that comes with the territory and Kubiak intends to make the most of it. The offensive disaster that Raiders fans endured under the Carroll family last year is still fresh on people’s minds.
Even still, despite the obvious struggles, Jeanty managed to record some impressive feats. The most notable being that he recorded 1,300-plus yards from scrimmage.
Jeanty himself acknowledged this offseason that his rookie year was far from what he had hoped. Calling it a “tough, tough season” while still taking accountability and assuring folks that he feels he could’ve done more. Well, he’s going to get that chance.

Kubiak has stated this offseason that the Raiders will be counting on Jeanty, as they should. “We think we should continue to challenge Ashton and get more out of him,” noted Kubiak. Bringing in Rick Dennison to run the offensive line was a major upgrade on its own, but when you add the young reinforcements that the Raiders added, this could be a quick turnaround if everyone plays their part.
The pieces appear to be aligning this offseason. The question remains whether it will be enough in a competitive AFC West. What are your thoughts, Raider Nation?
